Every ministry of Hurst Baptist Church is designed to take a person deeper into the Word. All departments—Children, Special Needs, Youth, Adult—are focused on developing a deeper understanding of the Bible from not just an educational standpoint but also an experiential life changing event.

In addition, every person is taught to be a teacher and minister in training. Dr. Wallace uses a unique approach in that the older Youths aid in teaching the children. His philosophy is that today too often the older youths are not prepared to become church leaders because they have not been taught to teach. At Hurst Baptist the older young people are engaged with teaching the younger children thus preparing them to be the leaders of the future.
